Hi, Iā€™m Toby
Iā€™m a guitarist, musician and teacher, and Iā€™ve been teaching people to play guitar and bass for over 25 years.
During that time Iā€™ve taught hundreds and hundreds of students - from complete beginners picking up a guitar for the first time to experienced players wanting to improve their technique, musicianship and confidence.
I believe guitar lessons should have structure and purpose, but they should also be enjoyable, practical and focused on making music.
But probably the biggest thing Iā€™ve learned from all those years of teaching is this:
People donā€™t need more information. They need to know what to practise, why theyā€™re practising it and where it's leading.
That's the idea at the heart of Proper Guitar Lessons.
There is already an almost unlimited amount of guitar content online. The problem is knowing what matters, what order to learn it in, and how to turn all of that information into actual playing ability.
